The Physics Nobel was announced today and it went to the main two guys behind COBE.

I went the planetarium this weekend and it reminded me of back when I was a wee lad and wanted to be a particle physicist/cosmologist. (Those two disciplines are more intertwined than you might think. :) ) Reading about COBE still sends chills up my spine. Experimental verification of a complex abstract mathematical theory about the friggin' origins of the universe.

I like planetariums too! Though I was a bit disappointed with the one here. It was still fun though. But the aquarium is awesome.
